Mr. Duclos is a long-time educator with over a decade of experience in administration. He graduated from concurrent education in Thunder Bay, Ontario and moved up to a small town in the Northwest Territories where he spent 14 years before moving back to his hometown of Sault Ste. Marie. During his time in the north, Mr. Duclos obtained a Master’s Degree in curriculum and assessment through the University of Calgary and continues his practice of lifelong learning. Mr. Duclos believes in student-centered education and strives to make solid connections with each and every child. He cares deeply about the success of each of the students and is committed to doing whatever he can to help them achieve their full potential. Outside of work, Mr. Duclos coaches basketball, soccer, and runs a youth theatre group. He enjoys spending time with his own four children and cherishing the moments. Come SOAR with us!

Marie, graduated from the Child and Youth Worker program to go on to work for many daycare locations, the school board, and a privately owned Montessori school. She has a very caring and thoughtful approach when working with her friends. Coming from a big family, she understands the different dynamics involved in interpersonal relationships and what it takes to maintain these connections. Collaborating with GlenOak's SOAR team has allowed Mr. Ingram to merge his background as a Child and Youth Worker into his teaching approach, emphasizing wellness and empowering students through their strengths. When he's not at GlenOak, you can often spot Mr. Ingram on the baseball diamond, enjoying board games with friends, or engaging in a game of volleyball.

Mrs. Matte grew up on a farm in Saskatchewan, but has lived in Sault Ste. Marie for twenty years. During her time as an educator, she has gained a variety of teaching experiences from facilitating the education of adults in a secondary adult education institution, as well as in college level English, to teaching high school courses

During her time as an educator, she has gained a variety of teaching experiences from facilitating the education of adults in a secondary adult education institution, as well as in college level English, to teaching high school courses, running a private school, and now teaching and serving at GlenOak Academy in the SOAR Program. Mrs. Matte is a teacher in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers, as well as a Registered Educational Therapist (RET). Mrs. Matte is passionate about helping students further develop their foundational language skills to enable them to reach their fullest potential as thriving and contributing members of their respective and future communities.

Mr. Murdoch grew up in beautiful Sault Ste. Marie, and he is also a member in good standing of the Ontario College of Teachers. His goal is to promote a positive learning environment where students are intrinsically motivated to learn. Mr. Murdoch has facilitated second language learning in France, as well as in Canada, and designing action-oriented learning situations is his forte. Working with GlenOak's SOAR team has given Mr. Murdoch the opportunity to be involved in fun and engaging curriculum-based outdoor and hands-on learning. When teaching online, Mr. Murdoch uses technology and humour to deliver energetic and motivating lessons in French and in English.
When not at GlenOak, you can find Mr. Murdoch cooking with his family, or exploring the vast wild spaces of the North Shore of Lake Superior.
